UPDATE - Sunday 7th February 2010

Charlene's Update
Not much to report since my rather late update of last week... I have added 1 whole thread this week but I can't notice a difference between the photo I uploaded late last week and the piece in front of me... its got about 11 stitches in a very pale blue that you can't notice as its about the same colour as the fabric. So I will skip the photo this week if thats ok with you all...
Looking forward to seeing everyones progress. Until next week :)

Virpi's update:

Gaynor's Update
Well, I nearly finished that pesky floral border at the bottom and then yesterday I realised I had left out part of the panel!
So this is me and what I was doing. I am not a happy bunny. It took me nearly as long to frog it as it did to stitch it and my, such a waste of thread. ;-(

************************
Lynda's Update

Puppies on Parade is now 80% complete. I have been concentrating on HAED's this week but hopefully will be able to finish this project during February.
Puppies 80%
Everyone's work is progressing well: I think this SAL helps.

Happy Stitching!!!!

************************

Chris's bit!
I have stitched another bit and am ready to finish this now. I really loved it when I started it but I did a bit of surfing last evening and saw several designs that I loved
I think modern designs have run their course with me and I want to do flowery designs again
So watch this space I might finish it or chuck it
Chris x

*********************************************
Karan's Update
This week I've mostly been concentrating on infilling the dress on this piece, though a few confetti stitches in various places have been infilled too. Here's how She looks this week:
I like how this SAL is keeping me focused - I know this would have remained a UFO for some time if I hadn't have joined. :0)

***********************************
Jayne's Progress
I have stitched P to T then the border for the next box and some of the Paw print border on the left side, I feel I am getting slower at stitching it,but still should have it finished by the end of March.

**************************
Lana's Update
I was able to finish the 5th row this week. Last week I got a little behind but this week I had a little more stitching time. I'm half way finished and already thinking about what I would like to start next. Till next week.

**************************

Paddypaws' Update
I had a good stitching week and there are now mountains appearing in the central scene. The SAL is definitely helping keep me focused and I'm liking how my project is stitching up. Happy stitching!

::::::::::Bev's Update::::::::::::
My week has been stitch, frog, stitch, frog, stitch frog, bu**er it, and threw it in the drawer, i don't think i should stitch when i am having a rough time at work, although i have a interview on monday, at the local high school for the a food technology technician, although i don't think i have a chance of it, but i get a day off work anyway, so i might even get a bit of stitching in to show next week!

***************
Michele's Update
Hello Ladies, I’ve stitch about 2 leaves since my last update but I cannot show you a picture. :( My darling daughter forgot to bring back the camera from her BFF. I am so sorry…
Everyone's progress is looking great!
Have a nice week,
Michele
************************
Annette's Update
This week I only managed 1 3/4hrs on Sweet Nectar - the slackiest week so far. But most of it was 1/2 stitches so it looks like I have done more. The hummingbird has feet now.
Everyone's WIP look awesome. Great work ladies.

****************
Theresa's Update
I started my next stocking earlier this week and then spent ages trying to decide whose initials to put on it! While I was 'thinking' I got side tracked by a lovely link from Annette's block which I started stitching on Friday. There's only a little bit of stitching for the stocking so I've not taken a photo...I got not much further than the toe before the initials dilemma struck, lol!

****************
Ingrid's Update

Well, when I signed up for this I had grand ideas of how much I was going to stitch a week. I would work on it every week, post a photo of my progress, and easily get this project done by the end of the year. I did manage to do a little stitching this week, but not enough to post a photo. I do want to work on it, but knitting is proving too enticing lately. Check out my personal blog for updates on knitting and everthing else that distracts me.

****************

Barb's Update
Every week I think I'm going to work on my SAL more than the last, but it
never seems to work that way! Maybe I set my expectations too high...
Anyway, this week I did finish backstitching the doors and started on the
topiary next to them.
I know this week is busy and I'll get little to no stitching done. Maybe I'll surprise myself!

******************************
Katri's update
Great progress, everyone! It's so nice to see your projects grow little by little. But as I suspected last week, my February rotation didn't allow me to work on Egyptian Garden last week (I'm stitching project No 6 now, EG is No 10, and it takes about an evening to stitch each project). I think this week it'll come up in the rotation, so next Sunday I'll likely have progress to report.

****************************

Lonneke's very late update :-)

I was able to do my weekly 200 stitches, but not much more. I am getting a bit bored by stitching her arm. And I still worry about how it is going to look. So I have decided to (besides my weekly 200 stitches on her arm) do some of the colored parts to see how they turn out. If I don't like it I will quit this one. I have never done that before and I won't not like it, but I don't want to stitch 3500 hours on something I don't like.
So, I keep my fingers crossed and hopefully it will turn out good.

Have a nice week.

****************************

Mishi's update
Hi all. I'm sorry for being so late with my post this week - I was visiting relatives last night and thought I would still have some time to post here, but unfortunately that turned out to not be the case :(. Still slowly working my way down the reflection!

****************************
Bonnie's Update
Got a bit of stitching in over the weekend
Here is my progress as of Sunday afternoon
*******************************************
Linnea's Update:
I took the picture yesterday after getting home late from a concert of my little progress. Then when I got to work today, I realized I totally forgot to post it on here. Sorry for the lateness.
I did make a little progress on the leaves this time. I got tired of doing the hard to see white part.
I will get back to that, but wanted to something that was more obvious. I did a bit of the green on the left that is overlapping what will be the window frame. I have not been doing much of my crafts at all lately. Getting too tired from working hard at work. They are lightening up my load some, so perhaps I will have more energy to tackle my projects very soon. I have so much I need to be doing.

Everyone who has posted looks great.
Happy Stitching!
~Linnea~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kirsi´s update
About 4000/62000 stitches. My SAL is very difficult. Over 10 colours in 10x10 area and some colours only 1 stitch. Also it is difficult for me to see the shades of different gray coloured flosses so it takes hours to stitch 50x10 "rows".
****************************************
Srinity's Update
I am so sorry I post my update so late. There is no other explanation than that I totally forgot. I have a flu and I think I have sneezed my brains out! :D I have backstitched the leaves and stitched the letter A and the anteater. Frog visited me when I was stitching the A. I promise I'll update on time this week. :)
Going AWOL
Hi guys ,
I'm not stitching much at the moment , and when I do stitch I'm not in the mood for my Christmas piece. So , rather than hog the naughty chair full time, I'm going to bow out of the SAL. Not sure if it will be for a short or long time yet , I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things , but I also have lots of little bits that need to get done.
Gaynor, if you could let me know if you want me to remove my pic etc, Thanks.
I'll keep popping back to check on everyone elses' progress . so keep up the good work everybody.
Take care,
Cath
UPDATE for Sunday 31st January
Please check the spacing of other people's posts after you have posted your own. Thank you
Theresa's Update
This week I managed to finish stocking number 2. It was very quick to stitch, I think because it's mostly black with just a little hint of red. I wasn't keen on this one before I started to stitch it, but I've really enjoyed stitching it and am now rather fond of it, lol! I'm enjoying stitching these little stockings very much now that I've properly started.
**********************************
Annette' Update
I managed to stitch 3 1/2 hrs on Sweet Nectar. I decided once a month to unroll it and take a photo of the piece in full. I managed to finish off another 10 rows and it is now 40 %. I am really enjoying watching this piece come to life.
Hope everyone else had a great stitching week.
**************************
I thought I had done this once but when I went to look at the blog my entry had disappeared! Perhaps I didn't post it!! Anyway heres mine moving along slowly
Hope every one has had a good stitchy week!
All the different pieces look so lovely can't wait to see some finishes
Happy Stitching
Chris x
Virpi's update
I'm behind my schedule if I want to finish this before our birthday. I wish I have more time to stitch next week.
~~~~~Bev's Non update~~~~
Yes thats right, no progress after been so busy at work that i am stressed to the point of cracking up, my assistant is more than useless, ( she put a delivery of ice cream in the fridge as she couldn't be bothered to sort the freezer out, so she put it in the fridge, as 'it will be alright till next week when we get rid of some of the stock in the freezer to fit it in.' I found it in the fridge the next day! so i am now going to have a manager come and assess ME because she is bloody crap at her job, as it is me that should put it right, as if i don't carry her enough as it is!, right sorry moan over will try and get some done this week but not promising as i have another bad week coming and i have a load of paper work that will take all day to do today and i'm not even getting paid for it, roll on half term!

**************Tara's last update***********

Well ladies this will be my last update for a few weeks or a month as you know having shoulder op this wednesday..so please feel free to join me under the naughty chairs with lots of yummy chocolates, sweets booze and anything else going !!! I'm joining you under the naughty chair this week Bev , been busy reading and other stuff. Will try harder next week .

Hope your op goes well Tar , take care and let us know how you're doing . Great work everyone . X

****************

Jayne's update

I have now finished the top half of the sampler, the Zebra's and the next part of the alphabet is what I have stitched this week not as much as in past weeks, we went away for a couple of days so this does cut down on stitching time.

************************

Lana's Update

I wasn't able to get quite as much stitching done as I would have liked to but some progress made. Hope to get a little more stitching done this week. Hope everyone has a great week. Tara I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and I'm sure you will be stitchng again real soon. Till next week.

********************************************
Gaynor's Update

Yes, despite all the odds (what a bloomin' week) I have managed to stitch on this today. I have finished the little yellow flowers in the pot with a deer and a running 'thing' and more alphabet. I have decided I want to get this finished now. What has been putting me off is the floral border just above the minicase alphabet...lots of counting and now real blocks of colour. Yuck. But I will get it done!

I am really pleased with all the progress that has been shown. You have put me to shame and now I will get on.

Thank you!

TTFN

*************************

Karan's Update

Great progress everyone. :0)

I didn't get too much time for stitching this week as I wasn't feeling too great initially then, when I was better, went to stay with my DSis for a few days. There just wasn't room to take my magnifying lamp so I could keep going.... and it would have been a waste of time if I had as we were out and about so much I didn't manage to get any stitching done at all whilst there. LOL
Here's what I did manage to do beforehand:

Her arm tattoos are completed, a little more done to the dress, a little more confetti filled in but I mostly concentrated on filling in the dark background area to the right of her arm. Reasonably pleased with the progress but hope to do better this week. :0)
**************************************

Paddypaws' Update
Thanks for the warm welcome. I made a fair amount of progress on the central panel of my sampler this week. I continued working on the lake and began filling in the surrounding greenery. Looks like there was some nice progress this week and I hope this coming week is good for everyone.

**************************************

Lynda's Update

No picture this week as just put Puppies back on the stand.

Everyone's WIPs are looking great: I feel I am making better progress since taking part in this SAL.

**********************************

Srinity's Update

This week I was a little bit lazy with my cross stitching but got some stitches in. I stitched the yellow/orange leaves on the left. I haven't done the backstitching yet, I will start stitching now and get the rest of the orange stitches in and do the backstitching after that.

**************************************

Mishi's Update

Hi all,
Sorry to hear about your bad week Bev - I hope next week goes better for you. Also, good luck with your operation Tara!

I managed to get some work done on the tiger yesterday - got quite a bit more of the blue done. Still have a
lot more blue to go though!

**************************************

Lonneke's update
Hi all,

This has been a bit of a crazy week for me. I have a new job, so a lot of my energy goes there. But I managed to reach my goal and then some. Did about 400 stitches this week. Have no picture to show though. Camera is not working. But it doesn't look very different from the last one. Still working on the arm. :-)

Have a nice week!

Edited to add pic:

**************************

Barb's Update

I have finally finished the doors and started backstitching them this week.

I never posted a pic last week, so my progress looks like more than it really is!

Tara, good luck on your surgery- hope you recouperate and are back to stitching quickly!
**************************************
Ingrid's Update

Not much to report - despite having fully entered my winter hibernation, I did no stitching whatsoever this week. I did make a lot of progress on my knitting projects though, and I'm happy with that. Next week I'll have a photo update.
**************************************

Clare's update

I have done a bit more on St George - the red bit on the left. It seems to be taking ages - the frog keeps visiting and I'm just not getting it done.

************************************************************
Bonnie's Update
I did manage to get some stitching done over the weekend.
Here is my progress as of last night.

*****************
Katri's update

Sorry for posting my update so late. I have been really tired lately, and not done much in the evenings after work... Anyway, I stitched Egyptian Garden all last week and this is where I am now. In February I'm going to rotate all the existing wips, so I might not have time to continue EG this week. But I'll keep you updated :-)

******************************************************************************

Charlene's VERY late update

Sorry I am so late uploading this weeks progress picture - firstly I had my parents staying with me and then I couldn't find the camera and then the upload cable.  FINALLY I have my photo.

Not much stitching this week as my parents were occupying my time... but I can still see progress.  I have not stitched yet this week... maybe today otherwise I might end up under the naughty chair again?

See you next week and everyone's progress is looking fantastic.

Hi from Paddypaws

I'm the latest member to join this group. I'm an American living in Munich, Germany. My project is Anchor's Coast-to-Coast Sampler and Gaynor has nicely added my picture to the sidebar already. An old friend and I are planning to do this 200 mile walk across Britain from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay in June and I would like the sampler to commemorate this feat (assuming we make it!). I began stitching on New Year's Day and would love to have it finished by the end of the year but knowing my stitching pace this is probably a several year project. I'm excited to have company along the way and am very glad that I found this community.

UPDATE for Sunday 24th January

Kirsi´s update

3850/62000 stitches. In every 10x10 stithes square there are about 10 different colours, many shades of grey. My husband said it is going to take 8 years for me to finish this. Maybe he is right :) So slow to stitch this! And I did not have so much time to stitch.

***********************************************

CHARLENE'S UPDATE

Hi everyone... this week I stitched on my piece on a few occassions... and I achieved more than my 1 strand a night goal for the week.

I am proud of what I achieved last week and am almost finished the section of the pattern I was working on...

Most of this was achieved on Thursday afternoon whilst my toddlers were at childcare :)

Hope that everyone else had a productive week?

Hugs Chars xxx
***************************************************

Annette's Update

I only did 2 3/4 hr on Sweet nectar this week but the progress seemed more. A lot of them were 1/2 stitches so that made the stitching go a lot quicker. I am hoping this next week to finish off the next 10 rows. It is really fun seeing this come to life. Hope everyone else had a good stitching week.

--------------------------------------------------

Chris's progress.

I have stitched another 'box' so am moving along. I have other pieces to stitch and I am still knitting socks so there are just not enough hours in the day! And having been introduced to a photo imaging program I have played with that too this week. Its well past the middle of January and soon it will be seed and planting and stitching time will be cut right down so I want a 30 hour day and a 5 week month!

Happy stitching everyone

Good progress Anette and Chars

Chris x

--------------------------------------------------
Lynda's Update

Another 10% completed on Puppies on Parade - 70% in total

Puppies Jan 24 2010

I am stitching on my HAED - Josephine Wall's Three Graces this week
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Caths' Update.
Done some of the snowmans' scarf and some more of the green border this week.

Looking good everyone . X

**********************************

TARA'S UPDATE

Hope we have all had a better week, i haven't done as much as i wanted on my SAL due to trying to get everything sorted and out of the way before my op which has now been changed to wednesday the 3rd, which is a bit better for me as i can get another weeks sewing done...hehe...plus my mums got bad backache so can't have her ill while i'm in hospital as she needs to look after my kids. So i've added the little doggie a bit more grass and finished the back stitching on the little boy with the dog, i am hoping to get all the people alone the bottom done before next weeks post, so that will make up for the 3 weeks i can't sew after the op.

Happy Stitching xxxx

***********************************

Lana's Update

I was able to finish the 3rd row this week. This is an easy pattern and has been so much fun to stitch. I have really enjoyed stitching this piece. I'll get started n the 4th row this afternoon since it is raining and I have a perfect excuse to stitch all afternoon. I really do need to work on a quilt - it is just about ready to start putting all the blocks together - so maybe I will split my time up a little. Wishing everyone a great week. Till next week. Lana

*************************
Jayne's update

I have been on holiday this week but have worked on other things as well as this is growing quite quickly I have done A-F the lions and finished the border on the left corner.

*******************

Karan's Update

Great progress everyone. :0)

I haven't managed as much on my piece this week as I've not been feeling well all week, complicated by my DSis having a crisis and needing a lot of support.

In case you can't tell where I've stitched: I've completed all the tattoos on Her arm, infilled more of the area under her arm and the side of her chest and made a start on the dress.

I shall be spending some time at my DSis's home next week and won't be taking this with me, as it's too much hassle to take the magnifying lamp too - hoping to manage to get a little more done before I go and should be back in time to do an update next weekend.

*******************************

Theresa's Update

I finished my first stocking earlier this week. Had wanted to get well into stitching the next one but we've had a busy weekend.

**********************************

Ingrid's Update

Slowly making progress, but I've also started a new knitting project, so we'll see which gets the most attention. This week I started using some of the blended threads and also the metallic gold. I've used it before by itself, but it's much harder with two threads of regular DMC.

*******************************

Lonneke's update

Hi everyone. I hope you are all feeling better this week.

I had so much fun stitching on Magnificent Wings. So I stitched a bit extra this week.

Since there are only 50 colors in this chart and it's quite colorful, I was a bit afraid that it wouldn't look so good stitched up. So I stitched a bit of the colorful...thingies(whatever it's called, I don't know) to see what it looks like. And I don't know if I am really confinced that it looks good, DB says he likes it very much, so I guess it looks ok. I have to say it looks better IRL then on the picture. The picture is not so good because I have to use the flash.

Well, anyway, here it is:

Have fun!

Lonneke

****************************************

Mishi's update

Hi all! I got a bit more done on the tiger this week - better progress than last week anyway. Unfortunately, it's looking like next week's going to be quite busy, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to spend on it before next Sunday. Hopefully I'll be able to find a couple of evenings to do some work on it!

****************************************

Barb's Update

I will try to remember to take a picture of my progress tomorrow.

This week I worked more on the doors. Hopefully I'll get them finished this week...

****************************************

Michele's Update

Between my daughter’s birthday and few exchanges that are due by the end of January I managed to stitch just a little bit on my piece.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Linnea's Update:
I did not do much this week, but since I didn't post a picture last week, it will seem like a did a bit. I am still doing the white that is hard to see on the left side. There is a lot to do there. This time I took a closer picture hoping you will be able to see the white part better. We are still having lots of rain. I am so ready for it to stop for a few days, but we are expecting more rain for the next few days. Hope I don't get soaked! Here is the picture:
I hope you can see where I have been stitching. It is growing!
Happy Stitching this week!
Srinity's Update
I am a day late since I forgot to take a picture yesterday when we had enough light to take a decent one. I didn't have migraines this week so I was actually able to stitch! :) But I had something else to stitch since on 15th of January my cousin had her second daughter and on 16th my friend had her first child, a son. So I have been stitching baby gifts the past week. I'll write a post about them in my blog as soon as I'll get them to the families.
But to my SAL. I did get a little bit done, I stitched the letter G and did the backstitching on it too. Next Sunday there might be much more since I'll finish the baby gifts today and then I have plenty of time to stitch this.
*********************
Katri's update
I got about 3 hours of stitching this weekend. Part of my progress is a bit difficult to see, as the floss is nearly the colour of the fabric :-) I only managed a photo and update this evening as I stitched until bedtime last night. Next I'm hoping to finally start the palm trees...
****************Bev's Update***************
Yes, i know i am late posting, but i have a REALLY good excuse, i have teenagers and they are driving me to distraction, need i say more :)
Anyway good news on TWO points, first one, i have actually stitched a bit this week, and found the camera batteries( took them out of sons xbox that will teach him lol)so even though progress is rather slow ( i am stitching a HAED as well) i am pleased i got so far, the gridding took me ages tonight, that i have got fed up with it, i will have to carry on another night.
And my other good news, is that last year people from the 2009 SAL will know i lost my GYPSY WAGON and i was slightly miffed, well its back!!! i got a nice letter from a woman that found it in her caravan, as she had accidently picked it up and found it in her things when she went off at Christmas, its a little mucky but i am so pleased i have it back! so sorry to everyone for the moaning i did about it, i will now shut up lol
************
Bonnie's update
Sorry to say that I don't have a progress pic this week. I didn't get a chance to stitchin on my growth rings all week. I did work on my Paradigm Lost, but no GR.
I am hoping that this weekend will not be as busy and I will be able to work on it.
Pokua's Update
MOTM is coming along very nicely. The grass is becoming greener and rabbits and birds are coming to life. I'm happy 'cause I've settled into a steady stitching rhythm with this project, which is a very good sign.
I see all of you are also making fantastic progress. Keep it up!
Happy Stitching, Pokua
Virpi's update
I'm sorry I won't be able to update for this week. I haven't stitched my SAL piece at all and I have lost my camera. My phone doesn't work either so as long as my camera is lost I can't update. I try to stitch my SAL piece next week.
Charlene's Update
I've had a shocking week but also a productive week - I've had several migraines - and I am not sure what is causing them as I seem to be waking up with them? I will have to talk to my doctor about it when I see her again? I think a part of the problem is that I am finding it really hard to unwind and relax. Stitching helps me to unwind but I don't seem to have the energy alot of the time to get it out.
My marital problems are sorting themselves out..(yay as I really do love my husband) and I managed to get my 3 toddlers (twin boys age 3 and little princess) into daycare 2 days a week. So I will finally have a day or so that I can just breathe and catch up with life - sleep is high on the agenda....as is cross stitch. Housework - blah it can wait till they are home :)
I was determined that I wasn't going to end up under the naughty chair 2 weeks in a row. So last night I whipped out my stitching the second that my toddlers were in bed determined to at least put one whole thread into the material but I ended up sitting for around 2 hours and thanks once again to half stitches and large blocks of colour managed to get a fairly visible result. You can see in the picture I was getting sick of working with just Navy so started a thread or 2 of the deep purple.
This weeks personal goal - at least 1 thread per night... fingers crossed for progress :)
---------------------------------------------------------
Annette's Progress
I finished off the row and started back on the other side. I did a lot of stitching with the gold thread this week and half stitches for the background which made it go quickly - I have finished off half of the next ten rows. I managed to get in 5 1/2 hrs stitching on it so am really pleased with the progress. Charlene there must be something in the water as I too have been waking up with migraines - usually about 3-4 in the morning. This is nothing unusual for me though. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's progress this week.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sorry , but I'm under the naughty chair this week , not done any stitching as I've been reading like a mad woman for the last few days.
Hope your op goes well Tara , let us know how you're doing . And sorry about your fella , but if it wasn't right , maybe the best thing . Take care .XXX
Chris's progress
I managed to stitch a little this week, but only a little. I have had the snow time blues and didn't feel like it!
I am knitting socks so haven't been totally idle.
Hope everyone else has done well.
Looking at them all they all look great, Well done everyone
Happy Stitching
Srinity's Update
I didn't get much stitched this week because of the migraines. I stitched some of the letter G block. I have an appointment for massage tomorrow and I hope that helps to loosen up my shoulder muscles and ends these migraines. Every year this time when the days suddenly get brighter and sun starts shining again I get these "migraine weeks". I guess my eyes would need more time to adjust to all that light.
*********************
Pokua's Update
Hi, All. Apologies for being so late with my posting for Week 1. Here it is - finished the house and 2 topiaries on the left. got back from an interstate work trip on Friday evening. Hoping to post Week 2 progress in the next couple of days. Happy Stitching ;-)
****************
Gaynor's Update.
Sorry...not having a good week so I have not stitched much. I finished the little trees, the deer, two letters and some more of the border lines.
Lonneke's update
I am sorry to hear so many of you are having a bad week. My week was quite ok.
I reached my goal again of 200 stitches. Did 255. Yay. I'm starting to like this goal thing. :-)
Wish you all a good week!
Karan's Update
First of all: lot's of gentle (((((((((hugs))))))))) for the folks with migraines (am a sufferer too, so know how lousy they can be) - hope you all feel much better soon.
I managed quite a bit of stitching again this week and am pleased with how things are progressing.
This time I concentrated on infilling all of the skin areas and tackling a few of those random confetti stitches. More confetti and skin this week..... and maybe a start on the dress....... or maybe some of those trees. Who knows? Will see what mood takes me when I pick this up again. :0)
Lana's Update
I was able to get the second row done this week. This has been a fun project and the stitching goes pretty fast. On to the third row. Wishing everyone a good week and a good stitching week.
Jayne's Update
I have spent quite alot of time on this, this week I have managed to stitch the upper right hand corner of the chart, I have not spent any time stitching anything else.
Katri's update
I managed to get a lot of stitching hours this weekend and finished the center part of the design, including the beading. Next week I can start stitching towards the palm trees, yay.
I do not have a pic this week. My gramma passed away on Monday night and have not had anytime for stitching this week. Love looking at everyone else's progress though!
Mishi's update
Hi everyone. Didn't get too much done this week unfortunately, as I just started back at work after a few weeks off - lots of catching up to do! I did get some more of the blue done in the reflection though. Hoping to have better progress to show next week!
Bev's Update.
I have stitched a bit but only about 100 stitches, yes pathetic but i have been digging out all week and too tired to stitch at night, there is only so much snow i can take.
but we only have a couple of feet left now ( at the beginning of the week we had 6ft snowdrifts and the snow has brought down the guttering, broke my BBQ and smashed my sunhouse so, no not done much, hoping to show more next week.
Roll on the Summer!!
Ingrid's Update
Not much to see in this photo, but I want to post a photo of my progress each week to keep a record of my work. Hopefully by the end of the month it will look like something! Great to read everyone's updates.
Kirsi´s update
I was wondering if there is a minimun amount of stitches that can be shown here? I only stitched about 425 stitches yesterday evening. I have had no time to stitch my SAL. I have stitched a birthdaypresent for my mom and some exchanges.
2695/62000 stitches.
Linnea's Update:
I am a bad girl for coming here so late. Sorry about that. I decided not to post a picture since all I have done is the white that is so hard to see anyway in the picture. I did a few more rows of that. Been busy over the weekend with my niece staying with us so we could work on a sewing project. I am teaching her to sew and she wanted to finish her current project. She is so excited about sewing, that she has already planned her next project! So because of that I did not have much time to stitch. Been so tired after work lately. That I don't feel up to stitching in the evening. Hope next week is better. We are having lots of rain right now.
Puppies Jan 10
Annette's Update
  I managed about 3 1/2 hrs on Sweet Nectar - there was a bit of backstitching in it and I have just about finished another 10 rows which will bring it up to 36% finished. I have taken a close up of the area I worked on last week. This week I will be moving over the other side. I am really enjoying stitching this.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress.
Chris's update
I have completed another box I could have stiched more as this week we have 'stitching' weather !! LOL
But I am rotating my WIPs to keep them all moving along and I have knitted another pair of socks as I have the sock knitting bug at the mo!
Well done to Annette, Lynda and Virpi, such beautiful designs, can't wait to see them grow each week.
Happy stitching all
Tara's weekly update...
Well the cold spell has finally hit Spain i had ice on top of the car yesterday morning ok fair enough it was nothing compared to UK but still it is unheard of, guaranteed the mountains opposite will be snow covered by the morning, unfortunately the rain is heading back today we've only had two days break from it in the past 3 weeks, apparently it's been the worst ever for over 60 years we actually saw cars floating away the other day on the main highway !!! I've done quite a bit of sewing this week including back stitching my ladies and have now started on the little children to the left of the ladies, this is a most weird project cause you are stitching and it just looks like blobs and you can't make out what it's going to be then you add a few more stitches and wow it turns into something, am still loving it so thats a good start.
As for shoulder my Dr has called me in next friday to meet with 7 other Drs i do hope they are good looking, he's taking my case to the high courts of medicine as he wants to prove that key hole surgery like i've had does'nt really work as good as full surgery, but he said that on Friday he will give me the date for my re op, hopefully within the next few weeks basically this time he has to cut the tendon and bring it down with another metal clip, i am so going to beep next time i go through customs !!!! Unfortunately the recovery period for the new op is over 6 months but we wont tell him that i will be doing a few stitches each week.
Right off to do some nice homemade baked bread, warm my fingers up that have turned blue and maybe hit a stitch or two....back to work and school run tomorrow.
Love to all xxx
xxxxxxxxxxx Lana's update xxxxxxxxxxx
I was able to finish the first row and this has been a fun piece to stitch. Hope to be able to stitch a row each week, we'll see. It's fun to see the progress everyone is making - till next week. Lana
Gaynor's Update
I didn't think I had done very much but it turns out I have done more than I though... I finished the tree, put the fruits on, started two more conifers and the wording 'to every purpose'. I still feel I could have done more but the light is terrible and despite having a sunlight lamp, my eyes have had enough lol
BTW 30 members to date!!!!
.......................................................................
Karan's Update
Great to see the progress on all those posted so far. :0)
I didn't think I'd done a great deal this week but when I've compared last week's and this there's more done than I thought. :0)
I've filled in a little more of the hair tresses and some of that flippin' confetti stitching and started on the skin of Her arm and the bit below her throat.... plus added a bit more to the background between Her hair and the tree trunk. There's a 7-night Most Haunted Live special on at the moment so I'll be watching that all week..... which means lots more stitching will be done. :0)
Caths' update.
Only done a little bit of the snowman , we've got too much of the real stuff for me to have much enthusiasm at the moment.
Great work everone , no-one under the naughty chair yet then? LOL
Tree's Update
I did some stitching on my stocking earlier on this week and made some progress. I had intended to get some more done but got distracted sorting out various projects and doing a bit of unanticipated applique! I have all my crosstitch projects organised now so hopefully a bit more progress from me on the stocking next week!
Katri's update
This is my progress from Wednesday, then I changed to another project. I'm looking forward to returning to Egypt by Thurday at the latest :-)
:::::::Bev's Update::::::::
I managed to stitch the word wedding but with me only stitching with one thread im not sure how happy i am with it, i will have to backstitch it to see if i prefer it or not.
My daughter has just took the photo and put some chocolate on it, NOOOOOO!!!!  so hope it comes off, and i am REALLY miffed that i will miss Most Haunted Live i have turned sky off to save some money bleeding heck!!!!!
Sari's Update
I managed to stitch the giraffe and some bushes around it. I wanted to stitch more but I got a head splitting migraine on Friday night and I couldn't stitch on Saturday at all. I haven't had migraines in more than a three months. I guess since I have stitched and knitted so much (and sat in front of my laptop) my shoulders are so stuck that I need to take a couple day break from stitching. I am still very happy with what I have already stitched so a little break won't break my schedule. :) Next time there might be a "G" for giraffe and some big yellow/orange leaves on the left.
Mishi's update
Hi all! Managed to get some more work on the reflection done this week. I haven't done quite as much as I intended, mainly due to getting caught up with some other projects, but I'm happy with what I managed. Lots of blues this week!
Jayne's update
I feel I have done quite well this week I have started in the middle of the chart and have worked right across it, I love the animal paw prints in the edge border I just hope I have counted properly so that I have no gaps when they join up.
Barb's Update
I'll try this again- thought I had posted an update, but it never showed. Maybe 2 people were posting/editing at the same time?
Anyway, I finished the greenery over the top of the door and worked more on the doors this week.
Everyone's progress looks great!
Have a great week,
Charlene  is under the naughty chair....
HI ladies... I am sitting under the naughty chair this week - having not stitched a stitch since my great start last week...  Its not that I have lost my motivation - rather that life has gotten in the road a tad of late.  I've been having a few marital and health issues... both time consuming.  Hopefully this week will be better though not off to a great start since I woke up with a migraine....
Lonneke's update
Hi all.
I want to do a lot of things. So this year I set some stitching goals for myself. I am usually not very good at this, because for me it takes the fun out of it and it is supposed to be fun! But so far I am doing well. My goal for Magnificent Wings is to stitch 200 stitches every week. And I did. A little more even.
Sorry, the picture is of poor quality, but our camera just isn't any better. There's also not much light here.
Love seeing everyone's progress.
Lonneke
Keli's Update
Does frogging out everything you stitched last week count as an update.  I'm back to a plain fabric with no stitches to show.  I was planning on using Carrie's Threads but I realized I didn't have enough to finish so I'm going back to DMC.  Need to do a floss toss to make sure all my colors match.
Linnea's Update:
Wow! This my first time to use the updated editor for uploading pictures. I have not tried it on my own blogs yet. Sorry I am late posting. It is Monday morning here. But I was just too exhausted last night after a long day away from home. I have done more stitching of the hard to see part on the left. Also did the backstitiching around the first heart. Was supposed to be the same shade as the heart, but decided to do a shade darker so it would show up a little better. Not sure if I like it. Will keep going though and try the next heart the same way and see how that looks.
Great stitching everyone!! Fun to see the updates. Lovely!
Purrple's Update
Sorry for being late again. I was away visiting friends all weekend and only came back home today.  Popped into HobbyCraft on my way home and bought myself some Thread Heaven. It works like a charm! I find working with Madeira thread very hard as it frays easily. Anyway, here's my update:
I only had a couple of hours for stitching this week but I'm still very happy with the progress.
Going back to stitching now :)
Have a nice week, ladies!
Bonnie's Update
Boy has it ever been a crazy week.  The only real stitching I got done was on Sunday, and I don't think I did much.
Here is growth rings as of tonight and a close up of what I did on the weekend
Ingrid's update
Hi everyone, I've just joined this group to get some motivation to stitch every week. I love large projects, but I work full time and have a lot of interests, so unless I have a major deadline, cross stitch projects don't get finished. Last year I bought a kit for Soul of the Rose, a Waterhouse painting made into a kit by Dimensions Gold Collection. I started it January 2nd to be my first SAL project ever. I'd like to finish it by the end of the year, but I don't get a lot of stitching time, so we'll see. In case you're wondering, this is the center of the chart, at her shoulder seam. I think it will be a while before I can recognize it!
I'll try and post a better introduction soon, but in the meantime you can check out my blog for more about me. Ingrid's blog
I have enjoyed everyone's updates so far and look forward to being part of this site.
